This was my studio set up in my hotel room.

I wonder what the cleaning crew thought.

Here you go.  I've been asked to create a BLOG.  I'm not quite sure what this will be about.  But here it goes.

Well, once again, my head and art heart/soul is so full. I just spent a week at the Figurative Artist Conference and Exhibition, FACE, for the second year in a row.
Five years ago I lost everything.  I started completely over to redefine who I was.  Little did I know that I was about to start my full time career as an international fine artist. That started when I found the Salamander Resort and Spa in Middleburg, VA.  Or is it that it found me?  I work there as a server and a bartender.  This allows me to NOT be a starving artist ... we serve food!  The resort has a full time show of my art and sells my prints, note cards and coloring books!  Plus .. PLUS ... my largest piece to date, 5x7 feet hangs in the main building.  Not to shabby, eh.
I enjoyed the new success but did little about growing it. Until FACE 2018 came along and changed everything. It was the boost I needed. I was beyond inspired. My sales quadrupled from the year before.   I found that being at the right place at the right time does nothing unless you work it.

The art world is not easy.  People want your work discounted.  Viewers see your work as a magical gift.  Groups want you to "donate" your art for their fundraisers.  Sometimes your work sits on the wall for years without selling.  And on and on.
I can’t wait to see how FACE 2019 changes my world even more.
Thanks again to FACE, the faculty, staff and my new best art friends that I met. I am full!
